Longleaf Announces Longleaf Recovery Center – Baldwin

Longleaf, a partnership between Birmingham Recovery Center, LIV Ventures, and EBSCO Industries, has closed on 5.3 acres in the Spanish Fort Town Center for the future home of Longleaf Recovery Center – Baldwin. The facility will offer drug and alcohol addiction treatment to approximately 55 patients.

According to Mental Health America’s 2022 State of Mental Health In America, Alabama ranked 50th out of 51 states on access ranking, which indicates how much access to mental healthcare exists within a state. Alabama dropped nine spots in the overall ranking, from 36th in 2021 to 45th in 2022, bringing to light the ominous trend in state-wide mental health issues.

“We’re proud to help expand Longleaf’s mission to the Eastern Shore,” said Robb Crumpton, LIV’s chief executive officer. “Far too many Alabamians need better access to substance use disorder treatment, and this facility will offer needed resources.”

LIV Ventures will be responsible for the development of Longleaf Recovery Center – Baldwin, as well as other facilities throughout the state. In May 2023, the organization announced its plan to build Longleaf Recovery Center – Madison, another drug and alcohol addiction treatment program near Huntsville.

Construction on Longleaf Recovery Center – Baldwin’s 7,500 square-foot facility is anticipated to be completed by Summer 2024.
